What is the best way to practice shooting from a blind with a bow? I missed twice this past fall and now I’m psyching myself out.

Well thats just it you need to set your blind up at your home and practice as much as possible. I like to set up dif situations that I might be put in when hunting and perfect your shot that way when it counts most you will know you can and will make the shot. You owe it to the deer and yourself to make the best shot every time if you can help it. I mean lets face it, it is bow hunting things will happen.

thats exactly what i do Set up the blind and shoot through each window at different angles. Its a grate way to get outside some some shooting and prepare for the season.

I would have to echo the previous posts about practice, lots of practice. Sounds like you're blaming the blind but there are many other variables that come in play during bow hunting. Not to say the blind isn't a possible problem, just need to keep an open mind on other options.

Keep shooting during the off season as well as during the season. Even if it were a few shots every other day, keep after it. You'll connect soon enough. Good luck!

Ditto on what these guys are recommending...one more thing though. Try shooting from various different positions...such as kneeling, sitting and so on. You'll be amazed at how much your form changes versus when you are standing up shooting at a target. In fact I just purchased a used No Peep to help ensure my form is 100% the same no matter what position I am in (other than maybe upside down). They quit making the no peep but I believe it has been incorporate into a new sight for last fall. I can't remember the name of it...anybody else know what I'm talking about?

To quickly add one more piece to advice to what these other guys have said. If you plan on hunting with another person in the blind have them in the blind with all your gear when you practice. You'd be surprised with how quickly you run out of room. Be sure to also practice on different uneven terrain. We'd like to believe everything is smooth but if you're facing a hill, your shooting window will be decreased if you sit up high. Make everything a real life scenario.

It's not the size of the dog that matters...it's the size of the gun his owner has that counts.
